De Richmond High Oilers, het schoolteam uit Richmond was nog ongeslagen en de titel lag voor het grijpen. Bij elke wedstrijd zat de zaal vol met uitzinnige fans. Maar op 4 januari 1999 brak de hel los, toen de spelers slechte cijfers haalden.
